Application Guidelines

Selecting the Right Grease for Heavy Machinery

Proper grease selection minimizes bearing wear, avoids pipe clogs in automated lines, and cuts downtime.

NLGI Consistency & Temperature

Thick greases (NLGI 2–3) excel in open bearings and high temperatures, while semi-fluid grades (EP-0 to EP-000) are required for low temperatures, gearcases, and long automated distribution lines.

Extreme Pressure (EP) & Load

Heavy mining, crushers, earthmoving equipment, and gear trains require chemical EP additives (Sulfur-Phosphorus) to prevent microwelding and scuffing during shock loads.

Thickener Compatibility

Lithium and Calcium soaps have distinct temperature ceilings and water resistance traits. Never mix incompatible bases without thoroughly cleaning or flushing previous residues.
